Color behind text
-
I’ve noticed on some blogs that some have color behind the text and sometimes only in certain paragraphs etc. I’ve noticed some reference to CSS but I don’t understand at all. My question is how do I get that color to emphasize for example a paragraph.. behind the text. Hope I’ve made it clear… It’s not that I need it per se but I would like to know if it’s easy to do. (I’ve looked for the answer but can’t seem to find it) Thanks Diane

You don’t need CSS editing to do this behind text in a post or page. See http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/09/19/background-color-to-text/

I followed the link and am trying to practice it… but so far all I can get is behind one line
I put
line=height:1.4;”>how now brown cow
Where did the cow go</div>I can just keep practicing and maybe I’ll get it… It’s only taken me 2 years to learn something new again…. ‘well almost learn’
Thanks Diane -
As my post says, span tags are used precisely for words or phrases inside a paragraph. For larger sections you need div tags. For a single complete paragraph, use this:
<p style="padding:12px;background-color:#BF5FFF;">COMPLETE PARAGRAPH HERE</p>The code you pasted above is wrong, because it starts with a span tag but ends with a div tag. I suggest you study this post of mine first:
