Color Customization Question…
-
Hi, I paid for the upgraded customization but I can’t figure out how to make the actual background in my postings black with a white font to match my new website. I’m using the Debut template. Any direction would be appreciated, thanks… going for an all black look with gray menus. Jeff

Hi there, add the following which turns the background of the content area black and the text white. The last rule in the following is the link color within the content. You can edit the color code as desired. It was a dark grey which did not show up too well.
#entry-container { background: none; color: #FFFFFF; } .entry-title, .entry-title a, .singular .entry-title, a, .entry-meta a { color: #FFFFFF; } .multiple #entry-container .entry, .list-view .entry, #commentform #submit:hover { border-top: none; box-shadow: none; } .entry-content a { color: #cc0000 !important; }If you wish to change the sidebar to black as well, add the following also.
.sidebar-right #main { background: none; } a { color: #FFFFFF !important; } .sidebar-right #main p, .widget-title { color: #FFFFFF; }This leaves the FB like box with a white background. It is tricky to change. If you want to change that also, let us know and we will work that out for you.

HI again….I copied the first part of the code and it did nothing…when I copied the part that you said was the sidebar, then the background of the blog posts went black. as you can see, there is a white border around each post and pic…is that editable as well? the facebook bar went completely white…I can remove it if it’s too difficult to code. thank you again…you really helped. Jeff

also, if you go to each category on top nav bar, there is a huge white box above the posts. Jeff

Hi there, I’m seeing the CSS in your custom CSS from above and seeing black backgrounds with white text in the content area and sidebar. Did I misunderstand what you wanted?
Oops on the categories pages. I had not noticed the white background behind the top title and such. Add the following to get rid of that background and turn the title white.
#page-header-container { background: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); } h1.page-title { color: #FFFFFF; } -
For single post pages, they did something different, so add the following to get rid of the white background.
.no-sidebar #entry-container { background: none; } -
You’re my hero….it’s 95% there. I still see white borders around video players and stills, even thumbnails and then the about and website buttons on upper right, you can’t read the text in the buttons. I’m sure that white text is tied to the body of the blog…but even if the buttons were white, that would the words stand out. I’d like to send you an amazon certificate for helping me, if you’d like to send me your email address. I appreciate your help. Jeff

Hi, I deleted the bluish menu buttons and put them on top…so that problem is gone…just the white border around players/photos. thanks….Jeff

Jeff, for the video/slideshow/image backgrounds, add the following. I think it catches all of them.
.format-video .player, .entry-content .slideshow-window { background: #000; border-color: #000; } #gallery-113-1 img { background: none; border: none !important; } .wp-caption { background: none; } -
