Color of images cyan. Please Help!!
-
I have posted a few images lately and they are completely changed from when I saved them to how they look once I upload them. They have a strong Cyan tint to them. Faces are looking gray, and everything is pretty dark. Could the settings when I upload these have changed. Everywhere else I upload (smugmug and other forums) the color doesn’t change. Please Help! I don’t have any images loaded because they are embarresing to even post like that, but I can post one if it helps.

If we can’t see them, we can’t help. A link to your blog and a direct link to the image.

This happens when wordpress resizes image to fit into your blog page. What I do is size the image ahead of time in an image editing program to the size that wordpress uses for my particular theme and then I upload that image directly to wordpress rather than onto another site. WordPress does a much better job with images that are uploaded here rather than hotlinking to an image on another site.
Still, the only way to make sure the image will not be messed with is to size it before you upload it and then upload it to wordpress.

And your page takes too long to load. You should consider setting a lower number of posts per page (in Settings > Reading).

Thanks, thesacredpath I’ll try that. In the mean time, is there anyway to erase my link to my blog or erase my forum response? I’d like to keep my blog as private as possible. Thanks :)

Okay, so I sized it correctly before I put it onto my blog but it still came out funky. It is not hotlinked from another site.

I’m not sure the difference between the top image and the other two, but the color in the top image is much better. What size did you resize them to?
-
500 x 333 pixels. I think it might be the way I am saving the image. I recently posted the photo to a photography forum and had the same problem.

The image size that you uploaded, at least for the picture of the two children is 4272 x 2484. What you want to do is resize them before you upload them to 500px wide. That is the size wordpress is using for your theme. That way wordpress will not mess with the image, it will use it as is.
-
The top image looks better because that image was uploaded at 500px wide. The second and third are large images that wordpress is resizing and as such, the color is being compromised. A dedicated image editing program will always do better than wordpress will.
I’m looking at the images on a 23″ color-corrected Apple Cinema Display at 5500k

I figured it out. It was the way I was saving the image. You can see the article below

Actually I had forgotten about that as I work with photoshop quite a bit and anything for the web I automatically do the “save for web” thing since all my photos are really for print and I use a special color profile for the Oce Lightjet digital photographic system.
I have to remember to keep that in mind in the future.

Is there anyway I can get one of the staff members to remove my blog address sooner than later? Or that entire forum entry with all my info?
-
I had modlooked this thread, but it has been taken off. Contact staff and ask them to remove it. Include a link to this thread. That’s all I can offer.
