color selections not showing on ‘preview’ page

The color selections I chose for the ‘MAEVE’ link are showing in the editor, but when I preview the page it’s black and hardly legible. This is FAR worse than the selection i’ve made.

Thank link is displayed exactly the same in both the editor and in the published page. It’s black and here’s how it looks on my end:

This is how it looks in my editor. When i look at the coding the colors are in there as expected. It’s only in the published page where it’s black, and the contrast is much worse than what I’ve selected.
Here is the coding:

While you are styling the color of the text, it won’t stay that color because your theme’s link color is black and will override anything you set in the post editor.
To change that you would need to use custom CSS, which is only accessible on Premium plans and higher. Or, you can remove the hyperlink to use the color you wanted.

I chose a theme at the beginning but then i cleared it and went with a blank template. Would this still apply?

Hi there,
Blank Canvas you’re using at the moment is still a theme. It’s minimalist, meaning it doesn’t have a bunch of elements like a header, footer, menu, widget areas, etc. included by default. But it still has certain styling specified for stuff like text and link colors, what font to use, font size, etc.
That said, I think my colleague might have been mistaken above when saying you can’t change the color for the link.
There in fact appears to be two way you can change this:
The first is in the Customizer at Appearance ->Customize ->Colors and backgrounds:
Note that this is a global setting for the site, so would affect the behaviour of other links you add to your site in future as well.
It’s also working for me in the editor. I see that block is currently broken, likely because there was a direct change made to the block markup, so you’ll need to fix that first:
