Colored drop Cap

I’ve searched, and asked, but I just can’t find the answer.
Please take a look at http://www.pearsonified.com/themes , he has his drop cap letter a different color than the rest of his text, I believe it is a shade of black.
I like it, but can’t get it done, here’s what my HTML looks like:

You need to specify a colour, try changing it so the code looks like this:

That’s OK, I really should be doing those last minute things I need to do so that I can transfer a site I just finished to the host and take it live. You know, sweaty palm time.
