colour change

Today there are no ‘customize colour’ function in the editor on the right… I want to change the colour of certain paragraphs in my blog, but cannot do so. Previously I could. Where is this function? Also, I cannot change the font size to the exact size that I desire . as I could before today! (That option is gone too!!)

  • Hi there,

This is due to a bug. Our developers are aware of the problem, though I’m unable to tell you how long it will take to fix at this time.

Thank you! I hope it is fixed soon!

  • Hi! I’m just noting our developers have fixed the issue with Custom Colors not being available in the editor. We thank you for your patience as we worked on a fix for this.

    Thank you!
The custom font size has not been resolved yet. Are you working on fixing this too?
(The “up and down arrows” to change the font size have disappeared – where they used to be are now “PX, EM, REM” (???) which does not make sense….)

Also, I have just noticed that the colour customization function still does not work properly – if I have a bulleted list and try to change the colour of the text, the drop-down arrow (that gives me access to the colour options) does not work. :(

That is intended. Those are units of measurement used on the web.

px stands for pixel. Previously, that’s the measurement that was used by default. Pixels are an absolute measurement, so if you set font size to a specific px value, that’s the size that text will display at no matter what else you do.

EM and REM are relative measures, i.e. any value you set there will cause the font size to automatically adjust relative to specific other elements on the screen. You don’t need to worry too much about these, and can just continue using px, but those options were added to make it easier for professional web designers using the WordPress software to create sites for other people to use the units of measurement they need access to.

This is working fine on my end, so the problem could be with your browser. Please check if clearing the browser cache makes any difference.

Thank you for the explanation about the PX, EM and REM. (The up-down arrow was very useful… can it not be added too? Or is manually putting in the pixel size now the only option if one uses PX?)
Re. the bulleted point colour – I have check mine again and now it works.
    Thank you!

  • I think an up-down and a px/em/rem selector might be a bit much on the same input box, but you can start with the size box on the left and then fine-tune on the right as you like.

Glad the points are working for you now!
