Cols theme has suddenly stopped displaying in columns
-
Hi, I just use off-sthe-shelf WordPress for ease – but the Cols theme has suddenly stopped displaying in columns for no apparent reason:

Thanks for any help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I think the reason it is displaying this way is that you’ve used the Gallery Post Format for this post rather than Standard Post Format like on https://abstract-machine.com/2017/03/11/bioy/
-
Thanks, justjennifer – I checked that & the post setting is “Standard”, just as it is with all my other posts.

Hello again, Looking at the source code of your Flamel post I see this:
article id=”post-4429″ class=”post-4429 post type-post status-publish format-gallery
whereas the bioy post shows:
article id=”post-4424″ class=”post-4424 post type-post status-publish format-standard
The Flamel post also appears when sorting your posts by type:
https://abstract-machine.com/type/gallery/Where is it you are looking that shows the Flamel post using the Standard post type?

Hi, justjennifer – it’s in the right-hand side of the edit screen, where it said simply, “Post Type: Standard”.
I hope you’re right though, & it’s simply a case of changing the setting. I’ll have another go at changing it when I’m back at the desktop.
Thanks for all your help.

Hi @maseescasi!
Good catch @justjennifer!
I took a look and I see what you’ve both described, the post is marked as Standard, even though it was actually set to the Gallery post type.
When I checked in the alternate, WP Admin editor, I could see the Gallery format selected – I updated the setting there and the post looks normal now.
I can’t say how it accidentally got set to that format setting, but you should be good to go from here :)

@chad1008- no worries. :) However it does worry me a bit that the alternate, WP Admin editor and the Calypso editor aren’t in sync. If you do thing in one place, shouldn’t it be the same in the other?
@maseescasi-you’re very welcome.

It should be, yes. I’m running some tests on a site of my own to see if this was an errant issue, or a reproducible bug that we can track down and squash!
