Column posting
-
Does anyone know how to put 2 columns of posts instead of one column of posts that takes up the whole page? I have the Rosalie blog theme. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
With the Rosalie theme, you can set the number of columns under Customize > Theme Options.
There are details on configuring the theme on this page: https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/rosalie/support/
Let me know if you have any questions! :)

Hi! You saved me many more hours of searching….thanks! One question. Do I have to have to apply this setting as I'm creating a post or do I do it after the post when I publish to activate it (or does it matter?)?
-
You’re welcome!
You can apply it anytime. It’s an overall change to the theme, not individual posts, so it’ll arrange them based on what you have it set to at the time (even if the post was published before the column number changed).

Another one lol. In the Rosalie theme preview they show in themes, there is a carousel image header that is below the blog name. When I tried to do this for the header image it put it above the blog name which I don't like. I want it to look just like the Rosalie theme preview. Do you know how I would do this? Thank you!

Also (sorry to pester you(, I want to change the one column to two column posting on and off for a more interesting look so there's not just a lot of redundancy (like the Rosalie them preview where there is a one column post with image and two column posting underneath and then switch back to one column posting after). Can I do this too?
-
So, you can't do columns individually or independent of one another when posting? If you change it one way or the other it does do it to ALL of the posts at the same time? I was hoping you could make columns independent of one another (going back and forth between one and two columns when posting) like it shows on the
Rosalie front preview page to break up the monotony. I hope this makes sense and that I'm understanding you correctly. :) -
Do you mean how the demo has the post called “Welcome to Rosalie, an awesome Lifestyle WordPress Blogging Theme” at the top (across both columns) and then the other posts in two columns below that?
If so, that post is set to Sticky, which is what is making that happen. Then the blog overall is set to two columns, so the rest of the posts display that way.
For the post slider (the image right below the social media icons at the top under the site title), those are set using a tag. Add a tag in Customize > Featured Content, then add the same tag to a few posts and they’ll show up in the slider.
This setup info (with screenshots) is explained here: https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/rosalie/support/
Let me know how it goes! :)

Hi! Is there a way to take my theme off of “sticky”? I was hoping to make a singular post to the blog that takes up the entire page (like the Rosalie theme) and then follow that post with 2 column posting and then go back to one column posting again just to break up the monotonous look of posts on the page. Thanks so much for your help! I am not a very high tech person and this is my first blog so I'm kind of in a “stupid” stage lol! I am trying the slider now too.

To change to the 2 column layout you’ll need to select that option in the Customizer:
https://thebeautyfocus.wordpress.com/wp-admin/customize.php
Click “Theme Options” then choose “2 Columns”.
To make one particular post fill the full width you’ll need to make that post sticky. Sticky posts will stick to the top of your list of posts even when newer ones are published.
This guide explains how to make a post sticky:

Let me know if you get stuck!

Hi there! I have another question please! I have a page named “Fragrance” from the navigation menu with a drop down menu under the parent “Beauty”. When I try to set a Featured Image for this page it saves it but when I go to the Fragrance page to view I don't see the image. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong?? Thank you!

Hi! Question. Will this option allow me to alternate between posting with one column on page and two columns on a page after one another off and on so that the reader see posts as one column, then two columns, and back o one column post again. I saw that on the preview of the Rosalie them and wanted it to look like that on my blog after purchasing that theme. I wanted to show posts that way to break up the monotony of just one or two column only post. Thought it would look more interesting to the reader if it looked that way. Thank you!

No, it doesn’t work like that. The post you see at the top of the front page in the Rosalie demo is a sticky post. Sticky posts will all appear at the top before any other posts, and the rest of the posts will appear below them in the number of columns that you specified in the theme settings. There is no way to make it alternate with this theme.

I did some testing, and this theme doesn’t display featured images on pages, so uploading a featured image to a page won’t do anything. They are only shown with posts on the home page.
