columnist theme display glitch?

I recently switched my blog to the columnist theme. I particularly like the way each panel has a preview picture if one is in the blog post. This format works great for the direction my blog has taken.

I have noticed an odd glitch. I made a few posts that were generated from the top bar “new post” button. When I do that, no preview photo becomes available on the home site. I’ve gone back and edited the posts from the main dashboard. When I have re-loaded a photo in that editor, it subsequently appears in the preview window.

It didn’t take long to figure out the variable here as to why some posts appeared with photo previews and some did not, and it was an easy fix. But in the end, this makes the new post button at the top of the page a less useful feature for me.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

Thank you so much for getting a hold of us! I did a little bit of research and after reading through the documentation for The Columnist theme, that theme is actually meant to have a featured image set in order to have a preview photo by default. Most themes will try to grab other pictures from a post if there is no other photo, but it is definitely meant to have a featured image in the first place.

In order to set a featured image you can follow the instructions which we’ve included right here:

    I hope this helps!
