columns

I chose the suburbia theme – http://suburbiademo.wordpress.com/ – which only has 2 columns for posts. My blog – http://globusidiomas.wordpress.com/ – has three columns of posts. How can I switch to 2 columns?

It doesn’t sound to me like you understand how the Suburbia theme is designed.
Suburbia description notes http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/suburbia/
live demo site http://suburbiademo.wordpress.com/On the main page, Suburbia doesn’t display regularly inserted images. They only display when a post is viewed on its own page – not on the front page. Only two posts with featured images in them display there side by side.
To have front page image display you need to set a featured image to each post and make each post a sticky post. The size of the featured image does matter. The featured image works best with images at least 350 by 248 (width, height).

Stcky posts > http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-postsIf you don’t see the Featured Image module on your Add New or Edit Post page, please make sure you’ve selected Featured Image in your Screen Options. http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options

This is not above controlling “columns”.
The number of posts displayed on the front page is set here > Settings > Reading. If you want two featured posts at the top and 5 posts below then set 7 posts to display on that page.
Reading Settings
Blog pages show at most _7_postsThe two posts at the top are posts that have featured images at least 350 by 248 (width, height) set and they are designated as sticky posts.
