Columns and image URL

    On a Page, I’d like to make 2 columns of images that link to different URLs (each image). The idea is that I’d like to show some reference projects of mine and link to their websites.

    I’ve tried ‘everything’ but can’t make it work – any ideas? In the ‘gallery’ functionality, I don’t even seem to be able to change the URL of the pictures – it’s a field/square I cannot touch (light grey) – so they all get the same URL. The HTML string to get columns, which I found in a support forum, doesn’t seem to work with my theme, so can you advice on what theme I should use to make this work?
