Hello,

I am using the Arcade theme.

I have two questions:

1. Is there a way to have a two columned area and a one columned area. I want t span a photo across the page. I currently have two columns on this page. http://ifdcorg.wordpress.com/bangladesh/?preview=true&preview_id=327&preview_nonce=1d0dcbe5c0

2. How do I successfully span a photo across the width of the browser window?

Can you explain a little more exactly what you are wanting to accomplish? I see a full-width image on that page set as “fixed” using a style attribute in the image code. With position: fixed though, the image will come to the top above the other content in the div. Add the following to the style declaration in the image code you have to drop the image back behind the entry content.
z-index:-1;
The following will then add a slightly transparent white background to the entry content so that it is readable above the image. You can adjust the level of transparency/opacity by adjusting the last number (0.65). The closer to 0 that number, the more transparent and the closer to 1, the more opaque. I also added a bit of left and right padding so the text isn’t flush up against the edge of the translucent white background.

Thanks. I want to picture to come before the text. So it should be the picture and then the text (which should be on white background). Here is an example http://splash.org/.

See how it goes from full width photo to another content area. This is what I’m looking for.
