.com and .org confusion – and how to untangle.?
-
inheriting responsibility for a site (self-hosted), my lack of experience means I found it easier to access and work on the site here at .com through the browser and didnt understand what .org’s difference was. How do I undo the knot? is it possible to even get into a knot between the two? I think Jetpack has been a bit aggressive and hungry …my webhost wasn’t best pleased … help.,,?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

aurorametro.com is hosted by IX Web Hosting
IP Address: 173.83.38.108
Name Servers:
ns15.ixwebhosting.com
ns16.ixwebhosting.comThat site is a stand alone wordpress.ORG software install on paid hostingf. As that site is not hosted by wordpress.com and we cannot help you with it. You are posting to the wrong support forum.
This is wordpress.com support. We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. Our support docs do not apply to
(1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
(2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM.Also, note that we do not provide Jetpack support https://jetpack.com/support/ for sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page.
Some Jetpack solutions are here http://jetpack.com/support/
Others are in the Jetpack support forum at WordPress.org
http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpackHowever, if help cannot be found at either one then they can file a Jetpack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
As you are referring to a site that is not hosted here, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

Hi @andrewwalbyaurora, do you want to keep using WordPress.com’s interface to manage the site? If so you will still need Jetpack.
Or, have you thought about just hosting here if you don’t want to deal with the more technical stuff? We can help you set that up if you’d like:
