.com Domain and Google Plus
-
If I purchase a .com domain name for my blog, will my current “Contributor To” with Google redirect and/or still “Function”? Right now, every time I link a blog post to G+, Google knows and registers the fact that I wrote it. Will this change if I pay for a .com domain?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Alexander,
After setting up your domain, it would be best to disable and re-enable your Google Authorship at https://nfaa.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=sharing to ensure that Google is acknowledging your new domain.
The system works the same way regardless of your domain name, so adding a .com shouldn’t have an impact on that.
Cheers!

Thanks, kraftbj,
Any different advice if I didn’t set it up through WordPress but just added code to the html I append to the end of every post?

Hi Alexander,
In that case, there should be no change required on your WordPress.com site. You’ll likely still need to add the domain to Google+ using Step 2 on this page: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/2539557?hl=en
Cheers!
