Combine Sites/Transfer Content
-
Hi
I’ve got two sites running with you (100kswings.com and dafyddrhysowen.com) but through two seperate accounts. I’m not sure how I managed to do that.
Ideally I want to lapse the 100kswings site but migrate the content into my core site – can you point me at ways to do that please?
WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: No
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi! In general it could be worth considering the export/import functions:
- https://wordpress.com/support/import/import-a-sites-content/
Are you thinking of basically blending the pages/posts together, or trying to keep them somewhat categorised and separate, but under the
dafyddrhysowen.comdomain?Another thing that’s worth considering is if you want to redirect visitors from
100kswings.comtodafyddrhysowen.com– in that case you could bring the domain over so that visitors who try to get to100kswings.comget automatically directed todafyddrhysowen.cominstead: -
Thanks, yes basically I want to copy the posts out of 100kswings.com and put them into a dedicated page on dafyddrhysowen.com

Understood! So there are a couple of things to bear in mind here – the first is that when you export blog posts, and then import them elsewhere, they’ll be added to the regular/main list of blog posts in your Posts > All Posts section; they won’t automatically be separated.
The second is that this also means they’ll be visible in your “main” blog post feed, for visitors.
What you can do to make sure they all appear on one specific page after importing, is to assign a specific tag or category to your
100kswings.composts before exporting them. When they’re imported, they will bring that tag/category with them; and you can add the tag/category page to your menu, so that people can easily get to those posts:- https://wordpress.com/support/menus/add-categories-to-a-menu/
(guide is specifically for categories but the same method works for tags)
There isn’t really a way to prevent them from also being visible in list of latest posts by default; but if you do want to ensure they’re excluded, you could possibly set up a “static” front page where you only show posts from your default category instead:
