Combining Blogs and Need Help

    So I have multiple blogs on my account, however there are two that I want to combine – becomingasinglemother & mysideofordinary. I have more followers on becomingasinglemother so I exported all my content from mysideofordinary and imported it to the other one. Now what I want is for the becomingasinglemother to have the address of mysideofordinary. I tried renaming it so I could use it for the other site but so far nothing is working. Is there a way to do this or can this be done by someone from wordpress.com?

    Let me add, that I understand why they won’t allow addresses to be used again, but I’m the author of both these blogs so it’s not like someone else would be getting their hands on it. I just don’t want the becomingasinglemother one but want the other one.

    Hi there. You’ll have to import all the content to the address you want to use. It’s not possible to switch addresses the way you’re trying to.

    Whatever you do, DON’T DELETE EITHER ADDRESS. Export everything from becomingasinglemother and import it to mysideofordinary. Your themes, widgets and other settings you’ll have to change yourself – the import won’t change that.

    Staff can move your subscribers over for you. Once you have all the content moved over and the theme sorted out, start a new thread where you ask staff to move your subscribers from one blog to the other. Give the active URLs (starting with http://) of both blogs and be very clear which must be moved to which. Add the tag “modlook” to the tag area to the right and wait for staff to get back to you.

    And I’d suggest you set the blog you won’t be using to private. Do not delete it. You can even leave the content in it, so you can use it as a backup or a test blog to try out new themes.

    Oh that will work. I didn’t know that the staff could move my followers. I don’t have many on the becomingasinglemother but that’s why I moved the content to that one instead of the other way around. Thanks for your help!
