COMBINING TWO BLOGS

  I have two sites: mindtravelsite and mindindweller. At the moment everything I write on mindindweller is published on mindtravelsite so I might as well combine the two. Can I do this and, if so, how? TKS

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  Do you have both sites under the account of @lellette? If so, isn’t it possible that you are not switching site properly before creating a post?

  Hello,

  The last posts on mindindweller.wordpress.com are from 2016 and I don’t see any posts by author/lellette

  What are the exact addresses of the two sites involved?

  mindtravelsite.wordpress.com and mindindweller.wordpress.com

  For some reason, since the mindindweller 2016 posts, everything has gone into mindtravelsite.

  Have no idea why.

  As I mentioned above, I don’t see lellette as author on mindindweller.wordpress.com only author/mindindweller Do you own that account?

  I switch sites but do not logoff from either; is that the problem?

  Thanks for the extra details. Technically, you can only be logged in to one account at a time in the same browser window.

  If you have two different accounts and two different websites, you should be logged in to the account/site you want to work on. There shouldn’t be any crossover when posting from one site to the other.

  Perhaps the fastest way to solve this is by logging out of both accounts, clearing your browser(s) cache and cookies and then shutting down the browser. Then open it and only log into the account that has access to mindindweller.wordpress.com

  If that doesn’t work, let’s wait for Staff to check behind the scenes.

  Thank you!

  It seems that was the problem; I tried logging out of both blogs and found they were completely independent.

  Although I would still like to find out if it is possible to combine two blogs into one?

  Hi there,

  To combine the two sites into one you’ll need to export content from one and import it to the other.

  So, log in as the username/site you don’t want to keep, and export your site from My Site ->Settings ->Export. Also make sure the site is set to private.

  Then log out, clear your browser cookies, and log in as the account/site you want to use. Import the file at My Site ->Settings ->Import. Any posts that appear on both sites shouldn’t be duplicated, while unique posts will be inserted inbetween existing ones based on the publication date.

  Thank you but I have decided to leave the two blogs as they are because combining them become too big/confusing!?

  So now that I know I have to LOG OUT of one before going to the other all is well.
