Combining two sites? I did not realize I have two of the Awesome Outcast domains. Actually three!!!!

    Hi. I would like to start using my Awesome Outcast domain/website/blog again after several years. I didn’t realize that there are three of them out there!!! I looked at the items on each of them, and I did in fact start each of them. How/what can I do to get everything on one? Thanks so much.

    Correct account: Yes

    Hi @awesomeoutcast, I see two under this account. Are you able to access the third through another username?

    If so, here’s what I’d do:

    1) Decide which site address you want to keep

    2) Export and import all of your site content into that address:
    https://wordpress.com/support/export/

    3) If needed, change site ownership so they’re all under the awesomeoutcast account (or under the other name, if you prefer that)

    4) Optional: add Site Redirect upgrades to each of the other sites so they’ll redirect to the one you want to keep.

    Does that help? If not, send more details and we’ll go from there.

    Hi, Supernovia. Thanks for getting back to me. One of the sites is showing as “private”. I can access that one, but the third one, which is what we were using before we went sedentary for a while, is the one I’m having trouble accessing. I’ll try the things you mentioned above and get back to you. Thanks again!

    And now I’m really confused. When I went to the site, I now have something in my cart for annual renewal. I have been making payments for the domain to GoDaddy. ???

    I did not see you mention it, but what is the URL of your third site? The only two we see under your account are:

    – https://awesomeoutcastsblog.wordpress.com/
    – https://awesomeoutcast.wordpress.com/

    If you can let us know the third one we can look it up and see what more we can find on this end, thanks!

    Getting Back on Track. Well…Trying to Anyways

    That’s how I was able to access it. When I entered awesomeoutcast.com, the older site came up. The site listed above has no dashboard information available on it. Could it be that it is listed under a different email?

    Ah, got it. That might be a copy of WordPress with another host. Sounds like you’ll want to go with that name!

    So, you’ll want to choose which hosting to use:
    https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/#overview-of-options

    Then you’ll go through a very similar export and import process, with a few steps more. And those last few steps will vary depending on where you want to host your site. Let us know what you decide!

    Hi, Supernovia,
    My apologies for not getting back to you right away. I went to the site you listed above for overview of options. Sorry to say, I’m still confused.
    At one point, I had hoped we could sell my son’s artwork on the blog, so that’s why we signed up with GoDaddy. That fell through but we still pay for the site and domain. I would like to have a domain for Awesome Outcast with just blogging and informational articles. I’ve tried contacting GoDaddy several times to no avail. I’m going to think on things a bit as to whether having a blog is even worth it. Right now, my son is ill and we’ll be traveling to some specialists next week. Maybe I can figure things out in the interim. So frustrating. :( Thanks for all your help.

    Sorry to hear about your son. And there’s no rush – we’re here to help!

    Since you just want to write, I would recommend moving your site and domain here (which would allow you to cancel things at GoDaddy) and with one of our paid plans, you’ll be able to use awesomeoutcast.com on one of your sites already here at WordPress.com. When purchasing that plan, you should have the option to transfer your domain here – we’ll be able to help you walk through that process if you need help.

    Then, all you would need to do is the export/import process that @supernovia outlined above.

    Hello again!!!! Thank you for your well wishes for my son. We’ll be working on his health and trying to figure things out, hopefully for the best.

    Ok – back to my mess and websites. I would love to have everything through WordPress directly. If my memory serves me correctly though, the reason I had done things through GoDaddy is that they accept monthly payments, which works better for my budget. If there is that option through WordPress, I’ve got to get moving on things though – as my monthly payment is coming up. I don’t need anything real fancy. Would I be able to put links in to our Facebook page and possible store there?

    If you’d like to move those sites to WordPress.com, you can by following the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/moving-from-self-hosted-wordpress-to-wordpress-com/

    And, you can add as many links as you want. :)
