  Most folks find autoplay video/audio to be fairly intrusive. So I’m not sure that WordPress.com would go out of its way to encourage it.

  Please note: autoplay ofmusic or videos is a major irritant for some people (myself included). Many of us will click out never to return again if we experience someone else has been so ignorant or arrogant that they have removed a visitor’s option to listen or watch or not. I never return to such blogs.

  but force video start in hd is totally different with autoplay, some people, b&w and strawberries… give me a reason why in 2015 with those kind of internet speed and cameras resolution, why i, you, them, must see my videos full of pixels? auto start on 480? pffff really why. this doesn’t look at all like the philosophy of the pioneer & biggest brand of blogging industry as wordpress want to advertise itself.

  You are obviously speaking as a person who lives in a country with high speed internet and good connectivity. Lucky you. Not everyone does.

  I agree with timethief, if I click on a blog like that I never go back. If you did have that function on your blog there are probably quite a few visitors who wouldn’t come back because their internet connection just can’t cope.
