You can post just about any video to your WordPress.com blog using VodPod’s “Post to WordPress” button. The “Post to WordPress” button will work on just about any site that offers Flash video with an embed code.

No its not outdated, it has been around for so long it should be supported – troll. -
@timethief
I’ll see if i can find it, and assuming its an official wordpress feature and not some third party addon. -

No, the Vodpod widget is for the sidebar. The Vodpod BUTTON is for the blog post itself.

I have been known to pull it off from time to time.

Sorry, should have been more specific. I tried it on Metacafe and I couldn’t get it to work.

Metacafe videos are supported. Two ways to post a Metacafe video:
a) Copy the URL from the embed code, paste to the address bar of your browser and hit enter, click “Share” (bottom right), click “Embed and Post”: auto-posting buttons show up, including WP.
b) Copy the embed code, transform it into a gigya shortcode (that’s what you get if you use the post-to-WP button), paste to HTML post editor.
Embed code is like that:
<embed src="URL HERE" width="400" height="345" wmode="transparent" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" [etc etc]
Equivalent shortcode:
[gigya src="URL HERE" width="400" height="345" quality="high" wmode="transparent" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" ] -
They have a specific Post To WordPress.Com button right on Metacafe? That’s new. Mind you, we haven’t had a request for this in at least two years, so I hadn’t looked at it.
