Coming back to WordPress.com from self-hosted blog – need help.

I had a Hindi WordPress.com blog (with custom domain) since 2009 and it was going great. Stats were approx 50,000 views per month and WordAds was also activated on it.

When I got Adsense approval for my self hosted English blog, I moved my Hindi WordPress blog out and it proved to be a big mistake. My traffic crashed, there were image issues in hundreds of posts, and I also lost my regular income from WordAds. Self-hosting is not that easy, there are so many things to look into regularly.

Now I want to move my self-hosted blog back to WordPress.com Moving is not difficult, I can do that easily but there are a few things I have issues with:

    1. How can I move back my 1600 email subscribers to WordPress.com? I’d moved them successfully to self-hosted blog using Jetpack module but I also made the mistake of deleting my WordPress.com blog. Now I’ll have to open a new blog with domain mapping.

    2. What about WordAds? Will I get instant approval for the same domain on which it was previously activated?

    Please help.

    Hi Nishant,

How can I move back my 1600 email subscribers to WordPress.com? I’d moved them successfully to self-hosted blog using Jetpack module but I also made the mistake of deleting my WordPress.com blog. Now I’ll have to open a new blog with domain mapping.

Once you have created your new site and moved your content, let us know before mapping the domain to the WordPress.com site or changing the name servers. We can then migrate your followers from the Jetpack connected site back to WordPress.com

What about WordAds? Will I get instant approval for the same domain on which it was previously activated?

I have responded to your private support request. Regarding WordAds.

If you have any other questions let us know.

Thanx Bdukes, but I’d made mistake of deleting Jetpack on my self hosted blog and I moved the site before seeing your reply. I, however have the old followers’ CSV file with me. Can you move the followers if I forward you the same?

    Hi themishnish,

No worries, we’ll still be able to do the transfer without the connection being active. Let us know when the WordPress.com site is ready and which site of your you’d like to move the subscribers to.
