Coming Soon page – customisable?

    I’m currently building a new site which is still showing ‘coming soon’ at present as I’m not quite ready to launch.

    The finished site will include an option to subscribe by email, and I thought it would be handy to include this on the ‘coming soon’ page, but I don’t think this is an option at present? Just checking that is right, and if so, would be a suggestion that WP might like to consider?

    Hi there,

    It’s not possible to subscribe to a site that’s in Coming Soon mode, no.

    I’m afraid this also isn’t something we’d be able to add – sites in Coming Soon mode are treated as private sites, and only someone who has been invited as a viewer can subscribe to/follow a private site. In other words, it’s by design that you can’t subscribe to a site in Coming Soon mode.

    I can definitely see why you’d find this option useful, though. If you were planning to upgrade your site, there might be coming soon/maintenance mode plugins available that lets you show a subscription form on the coming soon page. You’d be able to use those on the Pro plan.
