  How do I turn off comment approval? I emailed WordPress, however, they never responded.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  I believe you refer to comments moderation. That is you don’t want to moderate and approve comments. Just disable comment moderation on your Dashboard –> Settings –> Discussion.

  Make sure both options under “Before A Comment Appears” are not checked.

  The default comment setting page Settings > Discussion for the entire blog allows you to disable or enable comment. We can override those settings on any individual post or page as we create it and/or on future post as well. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/
  Note this setting is not retroactive so if you wish to close comments on existing posts and/or pages you must bulk edit and close them. http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/#bulk-editing-comments
