comment block not appearing on homepage/first post

  Using Hero template. I have enabled comments and the block appears on the pages. However, the first page which has a post does not have a place for comments. I can edit it and it appears but can’t find a way to keep it. I want all pages whatever type to have comments. I’ve looked at the help files but just cannot see what I’m missing.

  The “front page” of your blog is where the blog posts go, and the comments on blog posts never show on the “front page” because they’d get in the way of scrolling down to the next post. It’s not something you can change at WordPress.com.
