Comment Box

  The comment box has gone on my blog. I have checked the options under the edit options to have comments available but for some reason the comments box does not dislay. I’m new to this so could have made a mistake but can’t find answers that work in the support notes.

  Hello there,
  All WordPress blogs by default have comments open on all pages and posts. You must have changed the settings and need to change them back. Not to worry. This page > Settings > Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/
  We can also override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any post or page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/

  Thanks for your response. I did look at this already and go to the settings and discussion tab. All the boxes sem to be checked correclty but the comment box is still not appearing.

  I see a comment box on the first link (“Finally a use for…”), but not the second (“Is this the beginning…”). Are you sure the settings are the same for both posts?

  Yes, the settings are both the same. The odd thing I’ve just noticed is that the comment box seems to appear and then disappear. I thought it may have been my browser but then you are only seeing one comment box too. I’m a bit puzzled. Thanks for your response anyway. I think I may need some sleep and come back to this tomorrow.

  Go to Edit http://rantingsubversive.wordpress.com/2012/06/18/is-this-the-beginning-of-the-end/ and look underneath the Edit box and make sure that comments are enabled there. You can set comment options for the blog under Settings, but on each post you can enable or disable them below the post. Check.

  Thanks. Yes, for some reason on one of the box’s it was not checked to allow comments. Thanks for your help. I’ve been struggling for ages! V Helpful forum.
