Comment Box Bug
-
I recently noticed that the comment box gets very wide, so wide that you can not see the comment button on the screen. In other words, replying to a comment makes the whole page wider and a horizontal scroll bar appears.
This doesn’t happen if I am the first to create a comment on the page, but on nested comments, or sub comments… in other words, replies to someone’s comment.
The theme is Beacon and I know it’s phased out. But I really want to keep using it. It doesn’t have any issues except the comment bug I mentioned now.
Here you can see an example: https://diaryofdennis.com/2022/01/08/my-techno-track-from-2007/
Click reply to a comment and the page gets wider and the button will be out of screen.
I’d like to have that fixed please.

Hi there,
As you mention, the Beacon theme is an older theme that is retired, and the code is no longer updated: https://wordpress.com/theme/beacon/
Beacause of this we are not able to look into this issue. As a courtesy we do not remove retired themes from sites that are using them (i.e. forcing you to change) but we no longer have the ability to make updates to this retired theme.
It’s likely that as this theme ages more items may act buggy like this, so we recommend switching to a new theme to avoid any further issues. Let us know if you need further assistance or if you have any questions.
