Comment Box Disappeared (Twenty Sixteen Theme)

    Hi there, I am very new to WordPress. I have been having difficulty setting up comments on my sites, specifically I cannot get the comment box to appear. I have clicked “allow comments” under every applicable discussion section and adjusted the settings in JetPack. On some pages it worked (ex. davidemaurerlibrary.org/obituary), but the most important is davidemaurerlibrary.org/guestbook. As you can see, at one point the comment box was enabled, allowing for two comments. Overnight it seems to have been disabled, and I am at a loss.

    Thank you in advance for your help–if this needs to be posted into a different forum, I would appreciate that advice as well.

    It looks like you were able to enable the comment section under guestbook? Please let us know if you have any other questions or issues.

    Hi,

    In a last ditch effort to make the comments live, I created another page (/sign) to field the comments. This is not ideal, as I would like guests to have the ability to comment directly onto the guestbook (/guestbook) page. The settings for both pages are the same, so I’m still not understanding why the comment box is not showing on the guestbook page.

    Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with Bluehost.

    Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.
