Comment "box" missing from blg
-
Please note the comment box is missing. I am not sure how to fix this, I have checked my settings. Thanks for your help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The site linked to your name:
http://roomsofourown.wordpress.com/
has a comment box at the bottom of that page.
That page is apparently a static page, with 3 pictures which link to sites that Lee, Geri, and Shelley have set up.
You have a custom menu on that site linking to those same people’s sites.Which blog are you asking about?
Or I wonder if you are having a browser problem where you are viewing a cached version of the site you are asking about. Take a look here:

Thank you for asking.
http://roomsofourown.wordpress.com/ has a comment box
http://leesroom.wordpress.com/ has a comment box
but
http://gerisroom.wordpress.com/ does not. This is the one I was referring to.Thank you, Geri

The comment box appears only when you click on the post title and view the post individually.
http://gerisroom.wordpress.com/2011/09/01/valley-girl/If you want it to be like roomsofourown.wordpress.com, create a static page instead, and set it as your front page.

For some reason it is not there when I click “visit site” and see the Valley Girl post, but you are right, it is there when I click view under the Valley Girl post.
Thank you, I just wanted it to be there for my “visitors” – if I get any. :) Thanks for the clarification.

The reason comments are collapsed on the front pages of WordPress blogs is page loading time. Page loading time is a page ranking factor. In a new blog where there aren’t any or many comments the front page will load quickly. However, on an older blog with many comments on each post if comments were not collapsed visitors would have to scroll through a front page that would be very long. Studies indicate that internet users will only wait 3 – 4 seconds for a page to load. With collapsed comments on the front page visitors can choose which post they are interested in reading, and when they click the post title or the “leave a comment” link the post will display on it’s own page where all comments are visible. -
