Comment box not appearing under pages

    Hello,

I have allowed comments in Settings -> Discussion. And I’ve set all the pages to Discussion -> Open. Yet the comment box still doesn’t appear under any of the pages? Any help would be much appreciated!

I prefer posts to pages. With pages the visitor has to do all the work navigating your site. You can add individual comments blocks to pages however or see this support doc:-

Is it possible the Pages template for the Twenty Twenty-Four theme doesn’t include the Comment block? If not, you’ll need to add it.

You’re very welcome, though I am scratching my head as to why there’s an option for the Discussion setting when there’s no Comment block in the Template itself and there’s no clue about that when creating a regular Page. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Yes it makes no sense to me either!

  • Hello Steven,

    Thank you for reaching out!

It sounds like you’ve already enabled comments in Settings > Discussion and set your pages to “Open,” but the comment box still isn’t appearing. This might be happening because the template for your theme doesn’t automatically include a Comments block on pages.

Here’s how you can resolve this:

    1. Manually Add a Comments Block:
      • Open the page editor for any page where you want comments to appear.
      • Click on the + Add Block button and search for the Comments block.
      • Insert the Comments block wherever you’d like it to appear on your page, then save the changes.
    2. Edit the Page Template:
      • Go to Appearance > Editor.
      • Select the template you’re using for your pages.
      • Add the Comments block directly to the template, so it appears on all pages that use this layout.

For more detailed steps, you can refer to these guides:

Once you’ve followed these steps, you should be able to see the comment box on your pages. Let me know if you need any further assistance—I’m happy to help!
