Comment bubbles on static pages
-
I am just starting to set up a wordpress.com Web site/blog. I want to combine a static Web site with a blog. Is it possible to get rid of the comment bubble on the bottom of static pages? I have looked for this answer but can’t find anything. It appears that you can’t do this. Thanks for any help.

Open the pages in the editor and then turn comments off in the “discussion” module which should be down below the text area.

That makes complete sense. I can’t seem to get it to work, though. I went in there and unchecked everything, but it’s still showing up. I will just keep messing with it. I’m sure there’s a trick that I’m just not used to yet. Thanks so much.

Uncheck “allow comments” then click “update post.” Make sure when you go to view the page that you force refresh the page. If you are using IE, then you might even have to clear your browser cache.

Thank you. I figured it out, I think, thanks to your help. I set up a test page after doing what you said, and it doesn’t have the comments bubble on it, so I think it might have something to do with the way I set up my original page. So I’m just going to delete that original page and start over with it, now that I know how to do this. I think it will be right next time. Thanks so much for your help. I really appreciate it.
