comment bug?
-
My comments from readers are not showing up immediately. I have to manually “edit” their comment once more before they show up as a count, even though I am getting an email about receiving a comment.
Am I not understanding something or is this a bug?

Double check your settings over at Dashboard -> Options -> Discussion and double check these settings under “Before a comment appears”
*An administrator must approve the comment (regardless of any matches below) – unchecked
*Comment author must fill out name and e-mail – really doesnt matter
*Comment author must have a previously approved comment – uncheckedHope this helps,

DrMike: my settings are as you describe above, but the comment count is still not updated… Eventually some counts get updated, but I can’t figure out (yet) what triggers that…

Well, the comment count just got updated. Maybe there’s just a delay of a few minutess? (Refreshing the screen doesn’t work.)

It was this one, but (as I said) it’s now shown up:

But it didn’t show up for several minutes, even though I looked at the comment, refreshed the screen, etc.

It shouldn’t.
Now having said that, I’ve noticed that trackbacks coming from blogs here at WP.com are taking a few moments to show up on my offsite blog. I’m wondering if you’ve hit that issue. It happens from time to time if there’s a backlog I would think.
