Comment control

I am trying to disable comments on my “About” page but can’t figure it out with the existing guides. I can’t find the “discussion meta box” or the “screen options” tab as explained by this guide. http://www.simplethemes.com/tutorials/help/disable-comments-in-wordpress
Thank you very much.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Teddy!
On your Page/Post Editor you can find that over the right side, below the white box with the Publish/Update button there are a few other boxes. One of these is the Discussion box.
In your blog, it’s right below the “Page Attributes” box:
https://teddymccormick.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=1&action=editNote that this options are only visible when you access your WordPress.com blog from a desktop computer.
Here’s a reference guide about this: http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/
Let me know if this helps!

Thank for the help but I was not able to find the discussion box when I go to edit my about page. Under “Screen Options” I found that a “Discussions” box was unchecked, indicating it won’t be shown on screen. Does this mean that comments can be made and won’t be seen or that they can’t be made at all?
Thank you again,
Teddy -
Actually the “Screen Options” checkbox means that the “Discussions” box I mentioned is hidden, in the Post Editor :-).
I might be seeing it differently, but right now I can see the Discussion box right below the edit area of:
https://teddymccormick.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=1&action=editIf you can’t find it, go into “Screen Options” and make sure to have “Discussion” selected, so you can see the box in this screen.
When you finally see the box, make sure to uncheck “Allow comments” and “Allow trackbacks”.
Let me know if it works for you.
