Why can't I see readers' comments beneath the post to which they are replying?

Why can’t I see readers’ comments beneath the post to which they are replying? All it shows is the link to the comments, but not the comments themselves.

Your reader comments will appear below single posts but won’t appear on the homepage. The only theme we have which will also display comments on the homepage is P2. Other themes will only show them on single posts.
