Comment don't show up, Why?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Dear WordPress Team,
I started my blog and I think it runs pretty well,
I got some comments to my blog entries, but if I click on my blogpost and scroll down I see no comments written. But I get mails that someone comment my blog post. How come? Did I do something wrong? Hope you can help me, because I want that everybody can read the comments. For every blog post I add a the comment-box, but there is automatically always under my blog post comments again? Its actually twice there, even though I only made it once in, how come?

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards,
    Jenny

    Hi Jenny,

I see that you are adding a Contact Form to each of your blog posts. That’s actually different from the comment form (under “Leave a Reply” on each of your posts).

When someone uses the contact form, whatever they write is sent directly to you but it isn’t published on your blog. That’s best when you want to get private messages from your blog’s visitors. You can review the messages that people send through the contact form by going to Feedback > Feedback in your blog’s dashboard.

When someone uses the comment form at the bottom of the blog post, their comment will be published publicly on the post. You can review the comment that people leave on your blog by going to the Comments section in your blog’s dashboard.

We also have more information about how comments work here: Comments

Since you want everybody to be able to read the comments, I’d recommend not adding a contact form to your posts. That comment box will still appear at the bottom of the post so visitors can leave you comments. Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
