Comment Emails Now Have My Username as Sender

  • Unknown's avatar

Up until this morning when I received emails alerting me to a comment the sender name was the same as the username left by the commenter. Now I am receiving comment emails with my display name as the sender. This something change?

  • This has been changed back. It was your blog’s name in there. You should find that moderation notices have that name as their sender now which is friendlier than what was there before.

    Sorry for the confusion.

Yes, it is fixed now. Thanks!

I have a query which is related, I think. Is there any way I could have the commenter’s name and email appear instead of my email? As it stands, comments are mailed to me appearing as though they have been sent from my own email address, which means when I want to reply to them, I need to cut and paste the commenter’s email. Is it possible to somehow make it so that the commenter’s email is used so I can directly click on reply? (I use Gmail, if that makes a difference).

I have the same problem as mrsfife and I’m desperate to get it resolved. Ok, maybe not desperate, but really concerned. Actually, no, I am desperate. Please help!

mrsfife – that must be a Gmail issue. I use Outlook and can just hit reply.
