Comment field pre-filled

  Hi

  We’ve been noticing sometimes when going to comment on a blog post, the comment window is already open and has another user’s details already filled in. This has happened to several different users, and a variety of different commenters information pre-filled.

  Any ideas? Is it an IP address issue?

  That usually happens because someone using the SAME computer has filled things out and that particular computer has been set to save that kind of information. The cure on multi-user computers is to clear the cache and cookies and passwords at the end of each user’s session. The best practice is to not set shared computers to store this information in the first place, although obviously you don’t have control over all the computers.

  Could that be what’s happening here?

  It is happening to different people on different computers – could the caching be happening at an IP address level?
