Comment Form – comment details remain

  There is the standard comment form available at the end of each post of my blog. However, after the form is completed and submitted, the name and e-mail address of the person making the comment is not deleted. What happens therefore is that when a new person wants to make a comment, the details of the last person will still be there for all to see.

  Kindly advise a solution for this

  If you sign out you will not see that at all.

  Perhaps a better way to say that is log out of wordpress.com and view the contact page to see what readers see. There is no cause for concern. Only the party who left the comment can see that information.

  Thanks but i did sign out and opened the website as a guest and i noticed it is still there. I am pasting the link below so that you can see it easily..

  If you did not force clear your browser cache and cookies before logging in again then what you viewed was the cache image in your browser.

  When I click this link I so not see uesername information or an email address. Because I am logged into worpdpress.com I see

  WordPress uses cookies to keep track of commenters so if someone makes a comment on your blog, the next time they come to your blog, wordpress will recognize them and fill that information in for them (unless they have cleared their cookies). Anyone else going to your blog that has NOT commented will see blank fields. Anyone else going to your blog that has commented will see THEIR information filled in for them. They will not see each other’s information.

  Log out of wordpress, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and then take another look at your blog (don’t sign in) and you will see that the information is not there. Make a test comment and then see your information is filled in the next time. Then clear your browser cache and cookies, restart the browser and look again and you will see.
