Comment is awaiting moderation

  I recently posted a comment to the “avatar powered recent comments” topic.

  After sending the post, the forum says “Your comment is awaiting moderation” and my comment only shows up when I’m logged in. I couldn’t find any offensive language nor did I post a link or anything else which could be misunderstood.
  As it was right before weekend and support was closed I didn’t care about it and thought:
  Well someone will unlock the comment on monday.

  Checking the announcement today shows some more comments which were posted later than mine. That’s where I got really surprised.

  Is there anything wrong with my comment? I just said I love the new avatar powered comments and asked if it’s possible to let the blog owner decide which image should be displayed for non-WP users and those who haven’t specified an avatar yet. That’s all.

  on the staff blogs, ALL comments are held for moderation, no exceptions. It’s just to ensure that the threads stay clean. If there was nothing wrong with your comment I’d expect it to show up fairly quickly. Staff have to manually approve comments, so certain ones can get missed. They show up in proper order once they’ve been approved.

  And I’ve missed seeing several of my own comments in threads before. You just zone out when there are a lot of comments.

  I overlooked that there’s a difference between the forums and the staff blogs. I misunderstood these threads as forum topics.

  So thanks again for clarifying this to me.

  Good Morning – I echo the comments made by “somebody else” who was asking about why it takes some time before my comments are posted, yet comments from others are posted (and I know when they sent them) while mine are still awaiting moderation.

  Any comment back? (send to (email visible only to moderators and staff) if you like.

  As for an explanation as to why your comments are not being posted I should think that the party to ask about that is the blogger holding the comment in moderation. And as you have not provided a link to the post you commented on I’m assuming you are referring to the post linked to by the OP which was Posted: Wednesday, July 4th, 2007 at 6:06 pm by Donncha.

  Also note that volunteers do not provide email support at wordpress.com. Unfortunately you have posted an email address in a form that ensures spam bots will crawl all over it.
