Comment issues
-
Hi,
I’m launching my blog tonight and I would greatly appreciate your help with two issues with the Comments feature.
1. The bubble icon is overlapping with an embedded youtube in the upper right corner. Can I move the bubble to the bottom? Is there something I can do so it’s not in the way?
2. I’m testing out the comments feature and when I leave a comment on a post it’s not showing up.
Thank you,
DanThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1. The post in question has a video that when clicked porduced this meaage: “This video is unavailable. This video is private. If the owner of this video has granted you access, please log in.
To avoid the overlap of the comment bubble by the video all you have to do is to include introductory text prior to embeddding the video. Also note that getting posts indexed by search engines when they don’t contain at least 100 – 125 words of text can be dicey.
2. I don’t know why your comment is not showing up. This page > Settings > Discussion
Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.
We can also override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any post or page.

Depending on the theme we use when we close comments a phrase like “comments closed” or a similar phrase may appear and if so, it can only be removed by CSS editing after purchasing a custom design upgrade. -

Thank you fo the reply. Great idea to add text before the video. Works perfectly!
I’m still not sure what to do about comments. Comments have been enabled on my site and on the posts. What do I do? Can I give you admin privileges somehow?
-
Also, I had disabled comments earlier today seeing if it would remove the comment bubble at the top. I enabled it immediately after I realized it didn’t remove it but now I can’t leave comments.

We Volunteers do not gain Admin access to blogs and apply any internal fixes. That’s a role for Staff who do have backend access to blogs and only after every other means of correction has been applied. I submitted a comment to your Welcome post http://prologueprofiles.com/2012/04/22/welcome/#comment-13 Please see your Dashboard > Comments and be sure you have approved the comments there.

Thank you for volunteering your time!
Ok I see them in the Spam folder. How do I make it so comments don’t go to spam?
-
Simply click the “not Spam” link in the comment and it will appear in your “Pending” comments folder where you can access it and approve it. Also note that when you do this Akismet will learn it’s not spam.

Is there a way to change the blog associated with my username? right now it’s an old blog that I don’t use anymore.
-
provided you are referring to a blog that registered under the same username and associated email address then you can change the blog your username is linked to here > Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Primary Blog‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.
Then every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.
