Comment Moderation Upgrade

Currently any Admin or Editor can Moderate comments – but the notice of need to moderate only goes to the blog owner – or the email of record for a blog

In the day and age of multi-user blogs, being able to have notice to moderate sent to others would make things much easier to Admin

I currently Admin (and own) a friends blog – I am not able to redirect easily the notice to moderate to an editor. I would make my job easier if I could just have notice to moderate sent to another user.

As for why I own a friends blog- I “gifted” it to them a few years ago to get rid of the big emails being sent to their friends and to have a record of their sailing adventures. They are now Editors on their blog but are terrified of being Admin –

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello,

We are constantly working on improving the user experience for multi-user blogs and this sounds like a great idea.

Currently comment notifications are sent to the sites email address set in Settings > General > E-mail Address. I recommend setting this to be your friends email address. As the owner you will still get notified of billing request, transfer and deletion notifications and other owner specific email.

Your friend will get the daily comment email and can forward you anything that they think you should see as the admin.

I hope this helps and let us know if you need anything else.

I know I can change the email, in this case that is extra work and my friends are not always withing internet range so being able to put two email addresses would save some work and also let them keep up with the feedback from friends without needing to visit their blog when internet resources are limited

No billing on their site so should be no Admin notices and I am vicious in keeping things spam free so not even your spam cops should have a reason to contact me

But if you would please to make sure the suggestion is at least put on the list, I think it makes much sense given the direction of many blogs to multi-contributor blogs

If I change the email address at Settings >> General >>

Will I continue to receive comment moderation notice with the top gray nav bar and the WordPress app on my cell phone?

    thanks

was reading the fine print on Email Notification – (what I tell others to do all the time :) )

Comments are also sent to the Author of a Post – so as long as I remember to change the author to my friends name – they will also get the comments emailed to them – but if I forget (as I did last week to change the author’s name to not my own) then they don’t get the comments – so it sort or works when posting for someone else

So even with the new info, I stand by my desire to have the ability to send comments to more than one person associated with a blog

    thanks
