Comment Notifications

  A couple of WP bloggers have told me they no longer receive a notification when I leave comments on their blog. These are bloggers who have previously allowed me to leave comments, so my comments are still automatically posting. But they don’t know about it unless they happen to go back to that post, and then they see my comment there.

  Other bloggers who always used to reply or at least ‘like’ my comments are no longer doing that, so I suspect that no one is receiving a notification now when I comment. I thought the problem might be the Silk browser I was using on my Kindle Fire tablet, so I switched to my netbook with its Firefox browser, but I was still told that my comments are not generating any notifications. According to one blogger who was trying to help me with this, my email address and my IP address look fine… whatever that means, I am not very tech savvy.

  This seemed to start right after I filed a dispute with PayPal about a $26 charge that WordPress made against my debit card for a domain site that I never used and thought I had deleted almost a year ago. So far, this disputed charge is waiting to be resolved.

  What can I do to fix this? I hope WordPress isn’t punishing me for disputing a charge that I did not want or expect on my bank account.

  I hope someone can help. If not, I will completely delete my WP account. Not being able to comment and have my comments seen and responded to has taken the fun out of blogging. Also, I now can’t figure out how to get comments from others to post on my blog…. but that is a whole different issue.
