Comment Post lost after having to login

  Just wanted to vent my frustration about trying to leave a comment on hackaday.com. After typing in several paragraphs and clicking “post comment”, I was prompted by wordpress to login (even though I didn’t want to).

  I had to reset my password, and after it was all done, my long post was gone. Sure, I was now logged in to the wordpress site, but my comment I’d spent considerable time writing was gone.

  Very frustrating.

  Hi,
  I’m sorry that you had to go through that situation, but keep in mind that the comment settings are specified by each blog owner. WordPress.COM offers the option to not require readers signing in in order to comment. For my personal blogs for example, you’re only required to provide your name and email and people without WP accounts can leave comments, but this is because I specified that setting for my blogs.
