Comment Problem
-
A regular commenter on my blog has informed me he has been experiencing problems. In brief, he had once tried setting up a WP account but abandoned that for some reason and continued commenting with the standard name/email form he had always used. This was working fine till recently. Now, when he tries to comment he’s being asked to login and, never actually having had a functioning WP account, is unable to do so. Just yesterday, he informed me he had typed out a four paragraph response and then saw it disappear into the ether. Naturally, he’s not keen on trying to comment any more till this issue is resolved. What’s going on?

Hi there,
We need to hear from them so we can better help them troubleshoot this issue. I know that they don’t have a WordPress.com account, but they’ll need one to post in this forum.

Thanks, I’ll pass that along and see if it helps any. Is there any reason why a regular visitor with many approved comments in their history should be essentially locked out though? Very odd.

If your settings allow anyone comment on your site (without the need of being logged into their WordPress.com account), they shouldn’t have any problems.
But we can’t really advise without anymore details from them.
It may be browser-related, it would be best if they reached out directly to us.
