Why is my comment prompt not displaying below my posts, while it displays perfectly on my pages?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there, Traci!

I took a look at your latest post:
    http://tracibuxton.com/2014/09/23/582/

I am able to see your comment box at the bottom of the page:
    https://cloudup.com/c3vG_1FFzoj

Are you seeing something else? If so, please send me a screenshot, so I can better understand the issue. You can simply upload the screenshot to your Media Library, like any other image, and I’ll be able to access it from there. Just let me know when there’s some thing I should look at.

The page at the following link has some helpful tips for taking screenshots:

    Take a Screenshot

Thanks so much! All the best.

    Hi there Happiness Engineer, Robyn!

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my query!

I clicked on your link from my Windows laptop and saw a few interesting additions to my site that I have never seen before. Usually, when I preview my blog, it opens in edit mode. If I want to see what it will actually look like, I open it from my iPad mini.

So, when I added my Gallery page the other day, on my iPad I could see a nice comment prompt box – but only on my pages, not on my blog posts. This is the same when I view my blog from my windows laptop.

When I visited my blog from the app on my phone, no comment prompt appeared on either the posts or the pages.

Maybe it is an app issue?

I have uploaded my screen shots to my media library.

    Thanks so much!!!

    Hey Traci,

So, let’s breakdown each issue “machine by machine” so we can figure out precisely where/why the issue is taking place.

    Computer/Laptop:

I am seeing you comment box here:
    http://tracibuxton.com/gallery/
    http://tracibuxton.com/2014/09/23/582/

But not here, when I click on an image in your gallery:
    https://tracibuxton.files.wordpress.com/2014/09/wpid-photo.jpg

That is because you have your image linking to a Custom URL. If you would like the comment box to appear when the image is clicked, you’ll want to adjust the image settings to link to an Attachment Page.

    iPad/iPhone:

You mention it being a possible app issue. I originally looked at the WordPress app, thinking that this what what you referring to. Then, I took a closer look at the image you uploaded into your Media Library, and it seems that you’re looking at your site via Safari or another browser on your iPad. If that’s not the case, please let me know.

When I look at your site via Safari on an iPad, I saw the comments box on pages and posts. Here are images of what I was viewing:

And I did the same thing on the iPhone, and also saw the comments box:

Can you confirm that everytime you’re looking at a Post, that you’re on the actual Post page (which you get to by clicking the title of the Post), rather than the main blog page? You will not see the comments box on the main blog page.

If you’re still not seeing the comment box by following the above instructions, can you confirm which version of iPad/iPhone, iOS, and Apps you’re using?

Thanks much, Traci! We’ll get this all ironed out for you :) Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Wow, Robyn!

You are so knowledgeable and helpful! I was able to follow your instructions perfectly and adjusted my photos on my Gallery page.

In addition, I had a great “aha” moment when you let me know the difference between viewing a post on the blog page v. the post page.

Great information! This is such a learning process for me, but I love it. And, you are a great teacher and communicator.

And, btw, I saw that you followed my blog – thank you! I hope that you enjoy it and/or that it is inspiring to you or to people you may know. As with most bloggers, I am on a valuable journey and blogging is cathartic, keeps me accountable, and gives me valuable feedback. In addition, part of being in responsible fellowship with the world involves giving back. It takes time, but it is important.

I hope you are having a fabulous week and thanks again for taking the time to help me out!
