Comment publishing issue

  Comment arrives by email, but not in my comments section on the dashboard
  Hello, I’m new to the blog and have received a comment on one of my posts, but it isn’t showing up in my comment moderation section on the dashboard. I received an email telling me, that has the commenter’s name and email address and a link to the page on my blog where they commented, but nothing else. There’s nothing showing in my actual blog settings. I’ve been through the help section to no avail. Any ideas? Most appreciated – sonmicloud.

  Sorry if this is a rather silly question, but have you checked the actual blog post and see whether the comment showed up there? This might help find out what’s going on.

  Hello, yes I have, and it’s not just there, in fact I’ve left a comment of my own to copy and paste the left comment because it was so nice and my first one. There’s a box underneath the comment box form which seems to allow comments to be made that get published instantly, I used that. If anyone could have a look at my blog for me that might help. Do you think it could be a problem with the theme? Many thanks thanks for helping, I feel new and lost :/

  What does the email actually say? If the comment is spam, it’s probably in the spam folder.

  And that’s ity. It isn’t in my spam folder, or any other folder either. Thank you raincoaster. I’m lost :/

  Update – I’ve removed the contact form from every post as I suspect there’s an issue with that specifically. Now, there’s just a line that says “leave a comment” . I’ve ticked the boxes saying I still want to moderate the comments first, and I believe people still have to leave an email address. I just need someone to leave a test comment now so I can see if the problem is resolved, so if either of you could do that I’d be most gratefull.
