Comment replies direct to poster

When I got a comment forwarded to my email address, it used to come in as being received from the poster. I could then click Reply and send a reply direct to the email address of the person who posted. All comments now come into my inbox as comment-reply@ wordpress etc and if I click Reply it posts the reply onto my blog, NOT to the poster of the comment. Have I inadvertently changed the settings somewhere? I’ve looked in the Discussion part of Settings but can’t find an option for this. Any help VERY gratefully received.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Can we have the URL of the blog, starting with http?

No, that is the way things work now. If the comment is “approved” and you have your settings correct at settings > discussion, then after approval you receive a second email on that comment that has the email address of the commenter.

All you have to do though is on the no-reply email, copy the email address for the person from the body of the email and replace the “no-reply” email address in the email you are going to send.

Thanks for all your help. I think I’d presumed that was how it was now. I don’t remember ever being told that things were changing.

    Thanks again everyone.

Stuff around here just changes. This change happened about 6 months ago. Like I said though, if the comment goes directly onto the blog (doesn’t need to be approved) then the email address is the one they listed when they made the comment.
