Comment reply email notification

  Hi all:

  I have read a few posts on the forum but they don’t seem to be dealing with this exact issue.

  When I reply to a commenter’s comment on my blog, they don’t know about it unless they revisit my blog or have manually checked the box asking to be notified of subsequent comments.

  On WordPress.org there is a plugin that makes this checkbox default checked, so they will always get an email saying I’ve replied to their comment, unless they manually UNcheck the box. How do I do this on my WordPress.com blog?

  If you ever did this I and the rest of the world would make SUCH fun of you. That’s a remorseless spammer’s trick, and only one site I know of uses it. I made SUCH fun of them in front of several conference audiences and on my blog. Do not do this.

  It is illegal in many countries including Canada.
