Comment section not showing underneath blogpost

  Hi,

  The comment section is not showing up underneath my blogposts. I’m currently using the Hemingway Rewritten theme, but I had the same problem when I used the Forever theme.
  An “add a comment” button only appears below the title of my post on the homepage (which does not make sense to me), but when I go to the site of the blogpost itself I do get the comment section and tags below the post, like I want it.

  Does anyone have an idea how I can get the comment section below the posts on my homepage?

  The way your theme and blog are functioning is the norm. Unless you use the P2 theme which is a Twitter-like theme, know that the front pages of our blogs “showcase content” and comments are collapsed on that page. You cannot change this. The way the comments function is coded into the core of WordPress. By clicking the post title or the comments link the posts on the front page open on their own page where all comments display.

  What I posted applies to every WordPress.com blog regardless of theme. I have nearly 1000 posts in my blog. Imagine how long the page loading time wold be if every comment made over the last 8 years on every posts displayed. I wouldn’t have any readers because they would be so peeved off at the lengthy page loading time they would click out before the blog loaded.

  Timethief is spot on. Comments are not displayed on the blog index page on 99.9999% of all WordPress themes. They are only displayed on single post pages.

  Just let us know if anything isn’t clear or if you have any other questions.

  I get it now, thanks so much for the explanation!

  I have incorporated a ‘read more’ button so that when clicked the reader get redirected to the articlepage and is able to comment.
