Comment section trouble

  • Unknown's avatar

I recently launched a blog and I’ve been trying to work out the comment and date sections under each blog post. When me or others go onto the website from a computer, they are able to click the comment boxes. However when they go onto a mobile device, the date of the post and comment count section do not show up. I’ve gone through and changed everything that I knew to change it is still not working.

Also- when those that try to leave a comment from the computer, the website blocks them from leaving comment. It thinks they’re a robot or something. I’ve gone through my settings to see if there was anything checked that would block them but there isn’t.

    Please help ASAP. Thank you!

  • Hello –

http://www.couragedosage.com is not hosted with us at WordPress.com and because of that we do not have any access to the site.

For help with this site you will want to post at the WordPress.org support forums https://wordpress.org/support/

This guide outlines the differences between what happens here at WordPress.com and the self hosted version of WordPress: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    Hi,

Thank you for responding. I must be a little confused because I thought it was hosted by WordPress.com. If this is not the case, as you’ve said, is there a way that I can change hosts to get this issue resolved? This is my first blog, please bear with me.

I’ve tried to log into WordPress.org to post this issue to that forum however it is not letting me (it says invalid login and I have checked the password and email and such) but I have access to my blog by logging into WordPress.com with no problem.

Is there a number I can call to speak with someone personally for help?

    Thank you.

  • No problem. I’ll try to explain a bit more.

couragedosage.com is hosted at Blue Host using the installation of WordPress from https://wordpress.org/

The way things are set up now with couragedosage.com you would need to post at https://wordpress.org/support/ or get in touch with BlueHost about any troubles.

Your site is using the Jetpack plugin to connect it to the WordPress.com dashboard. But it is not actually hosted with WordPress.com.

If you want to move the site to WordPress.com you can do that through domain mapping: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/
