Comment SPAM

  What is the proper thing to do when you get comment spam.

  I’ve been getting some lately…

  Do I “edit” the Comment and set it to “Spam”… and then click “Edit Post”? or click “Delete Post”?

  Which one will notify the spam software that this was spam… to improve it’s spam protection intelligence…?

  In the comments -> comments tab you will see all the comments listed, with some of the text. Under each comment is the row with “[ Edit | Delete | Unapprove | Approve | Spam | View Post ]” on it – just click on “Spam” for each one. I find this is the quickest method and also tells akismet about them.

  But when you look at the individual comments, click on spam and then Edit Post. It will then move the comment over to the Akismet queue for disposal. At least that’s how I do it.
